The weather was warm and sunny at Motorland Aragon in Spain today, as the tenth WorldSBK round continued.
Yesterday, Bradley Ray completed the first free practice sessions in seventeenth place, with a time of 1’49”994. This morning, the British rider was back on track for FP3, refining the setup of his bike ahead of the subsequent Superpole, in which he was able to significantly improve on his times, setting a 1’49”095 to qualify seventeenth.
With this result, he started from row six in Race 1, which ran in the afternoon but was immediately halted with a red flag following a crash for another riders. The race was soon restarted and reduced to 17 laps. Ray did not make the fastest start but was able to get into a good rhythm and cross the line fifteenth, scoring one championship point as a result.
Tomorrow the Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team will line up for the Superpole Race and Race 2.
“A positive race not only because we reached the points zone, but also because Ray was able to maintain strong pace and the bike performed well. For tomorrow, we’ll try to improve in certain areas so that we can score the best possible result in both races.”
“It was a good race today. I lost a little time at the start and lost contact with the leading group as a result. I’m pleased with my race pace and know that tomorrow we can do even more. Thanks to the team for all their hard work.”
