Conditions were cool and sunny at Motorland Aragon in Spain for the final day of action making up the tenth WorldSBK round.
Yesterday saw Bradley Ray on track for the Superpole, which he completed in seventeenth place, and Race 1, in which he reached the points zone, crossing the line fifteenth.
This morning, the English rider lined up on the sixth row of the grid for the ten-lap Superpole Race. Ray was able to maintain a very strong pace in the few laps available, finishing sixteenth.
Race 2 got underway in the afternoon and, having made a good start, Bradley again showed consistent pace, which allowed him to place P16, just outside the points zone.
The next Superbike World Championship round will take place on 11-13 October at the Estoril Circuit in Portugal.
“The points zone is now well within reach, and we’ve improved a lot with respect to the start of the season. The impression now is that we’re exploiting the full potential of our bike, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t want to keep getting better and score the best possible results.”
“I’m pleased with the work done this weekend. Even if our results don’t seem that great, we’re actually really close to the other Yamahas and this is important. I’m pleased with that and keen to get back on the bike at Estoril when I’ll continue to work hard with my team.”
