Less than two weeks since home round Cremona, the Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team is ready to return to action at Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic for the fifth WorldSBK championship round.
At the winding Czech track, Tito Rabat and Bahattin Sofuoglu will try to find the right setup for their YZF-R1 bikes with the aim of reaching the points zone. The young Turkish rider had a positive outing in Italy, while the Spaniard was less lucky and will look to Most for the results he missed out on in Italy.
The Czech track will also stage the third WorldSSP300 round, in which Sandro Carusi’s team fields two young talents in the shape of Cameron Swain and Marc Vich. Both are rookies in the SSP300 class and are building the experience needed to be able to demonstrate their talents. Australian rider Swain will be aiming for the points, while Spaniard Vich will battle for the top ten.
The Autodrom Most first featured on the production-derived calendar in 2021. Located in the north of the Czech Republic, it is easy to reach for fans coming from nearby Germany and Poland. The track was fully resurfaced in 1983 and became the first permanent motorsport complex in what was the former Czechoslovakia. The track measures 4.212 km and incorporates 21 turns, twelve of which right handers and nine left.
"I’m pleased to head back to Most, an old-style track that I like and that can suit the characteristics of our bike. In Superbike we continue to seek confirmation with Sofuoglu, while we’re sure Rabat can make up for the disappointment of Cremona. In Supersport 300 I expect our young riders to exploit the progress made in recent races.”
“We were really unlucky at Cremona in that a few small issues prevented us from expressing our potential. Both me and the team are working hard and I’m sure that we’ll be able to achieve the results we deserve. The Most track suits our bike well and so I’m feeling motivated will give it my all, as always.”
“I’ve been training hard to be ready for this fifth Most round, in which I hope to continue making progress as we’ve done in recent races. I know my team has been working hard on my R1 to make it increasingly competitive and I want to repay them with the best results possible. It’s not one of my favourite tracks but I’ll try to find the best setup for my bike to do well in Superpole and in the races.”
