A meno di due settimane delle gare disputate a Magny Cours in Francia, il team Motoxracing si sposta sul Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya in Spagna, per l’ottavo round del Campionato Mondiale Superbike.
Quello di Magny Cours non è stato un appuntamento facile anche a causa della pioggia, ma nella gara di domenica, quando la squadra di Sandro Carusi aveva acquisito molti dati ed il pilota Roberto Tamburini aveva preso maggior confidenza con il tracciato, sono arrivati un quattordicesimo posto che ha significato due punti mondiali.
Anche per il weekend catalano l’obiettivo è quello di continuare ad acquisire esperienza, crescere e migliorarsi, puntando la zona punti.
E’ solo il terzo anno che il WorldSBK fa tappa a Barcellona. Il Circuito è situato a Montmelò, ad una centinaia di chilometri a nord est del capoluogo della Catalunya. Venne inaugurato nel 1991 in vista dei Giochi Olimpici del 1992. E’ una delle piste più apprezzate dai piloti, sia per la sua conformazione che per le sue curve ampie e veloci. Misura 4.657 metri ed ha quattordici curve, delle quali otto a destra e sei a sinistra.
Sandro Carusi – Team Principal: "Sta per terminare la nostra prima stagione in Superbike e siamo contenti di come sono andate le cose fino ad ora. Spero che in Spagna il team ottenga altri punti, per poi concludere al meglio il campionato nell'ultimo round di Portimao. Siamo già con la testa al 2023 e a Barcellona potremmo già avere conferme importanti, che riguardano il nostro programma per la prossima stagione".
Roberto Tamburini: “E’ tanto che non corro a Barcellona e quindi mi dovrò riadattare in fretta alla pista. La speranza è che non piova, in modo da poter avere più a tempo a disposizione per raccogliere dati e trovare il set up migliore per la nostra Yamaha. Veniamo da un round difficile ma positivo, che ci ha dato morale per il proseguo della stagione. Essendo al nostro primo anno in Superbike, il nostro obiettivo è come sempre quello di impegnarci al massimo per centrare la zona punti”.

Back on track in Barcelona, Spain for the eighth WorldSBK round
Less than two weeks after racing at Magny-Cours in France, the Motoxracing team has moved on to the Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya in Spain for round eight of the Superbike World Championship.
The Magny-Cours round was not an easy one, further complicated by rain, but in Sunday’s race, once Sandro Carusi’s team had acquired a good amount of data and rider Roberto Tamburini had built confidence with the track, they were able to finish in fourteenth place and score two championship points.
The goal for this Catalan weekend is to continue to build experience, grow and improve, while aiming for the points zone.
This is only the third year that WorldSBK is visiting Barcelona. The Circuit is located in Montmeló, a little over twenty kilometres northeast of the region’s capital. It was inaugurated in 1991 ahead of the 1992 Olympic Games. It is a track that riders particularly enjoy, thanks to both its layout and its wide, fast turns. It measures 4657 metres and incorporates fourteenth corner, of which eight are right-hand turns and six are left-handers.
Sandro Carusi – Team Principal: "Our first Superbike season is soon to draw to an end and we’re pleased with how things have gone so far. I hope the team can score more points in Spain and then round out the championship in the best possible way at our last Portimão round. Our minds are already on 2023 and we may already have some important updates at Barcelona regarding our plans for next season.”
Roberto Tamburini: “I haven’t raced at Barcelona for a long time and so I’ll need to quickly readapt to the track. I hope it doesn’t rain, so we have more time to collect data and find the best set-up for our Yamaha. We’ve coming from what was a tough, but positive, round, which has boosted my moral for what remains of the season. As this is our first year in Superbike, our goal is always to give it our all and reach the points zone.”
